Gap is a store that carries mainly casual clothes, but many items (slacks, blazers) are available that are "work appropriate." Their sizes tend to run a little on the large side. Gap.com has a great selection of sizes 0 to 20 with FIVE options for inseam length: petite (29"), ankle (30"), regular (32"), long (34"), and tall (36"); however, petite (and tall) sizes are available only online, and "ankle" length pants are only available in sizes 2 and up at my local store. Many tops, blazers, etc. are also available in petite sizes (again, online only). Prices are relatively expensive, with full-price pants and jeans starting around $40, and shipping prices can be high; however online purchases can be returned directly to any Gap store for no additional charge. Free shipping is (currently, as of 3/10/06) available for Gap card users spending $50 or more, or anyone spending $100 or more.
Overall, Gap is a good option for petites who 1) are not very skinny and 2) don't mind spending a little extra.
